Black and Red Currants are a great edible addition to any home landscape. The plants grow 4 to 6 feet tall and are commonly planted 4 to 5 feet apart. They are one of the few berry plants that can tolerate, and even thrive, in partial shade. These plants come in 1 gallon pots and are ready to plant.

These plants will be available starting Friday, May 10th for pickup at the farm. We are sorry but we are unable to ship plants.

This year we are offering the following varieties:

Consort Black Currant: Ripens in mid July. Black currants have a strong and unique flavor and are often used  in jams, jellies, juice, and sauces. Fruit is high in vitamin C.  Can be grown as a fruiting hedge if planted three feet apart.

Jonkheer Van Tets Red Currant: Berries ripen in early July. Has a sweet flavor and is great for fresh eating right off the bush.
